"Hey m'lord, I know you're focused on the western front now but those troop ships you commanded to invade an enemy planet on the eastern front are about to cross paths with one of their few remaining fleets, would you like to take a look so our men aren't slaughtered by three busted ass corvettes and a cruiser?" If a game can't draw the player's attention to something a reasonably intelligent ten year old child advising my avatar would see as a problem worthy of "the leader's" attention, that's a design flaw. It's the "reasonably intelligent ten year old child advisor" thing. God I hate it when my transports get ambushed because my attention is elsewhere and then I have to rebuild them all. The only player input should be designing the defense platforms.

It should be removed from player control, and it should be fully automatic.

#Endless space 2 ships arent filling with ground troops upgrade#

Its like having to manually build and upgrade every defense platform around every starbase. Having to build hundreds of redshirt armies is fiddly micromanagement for no good reason. A well built fleet can win against stronger opponents easily while a poorly designed fleet gets mauled.Įven late game you should probably only have maybe 4-8 armies in your entire empire at most.

Fielding a full fleet is a big deal, and your fleet design is critically important. IMO, armies should be much fewer in number, far more expensive, and much more consequential. Fill out the army unit as a template, save that template, and deploy it. Bring artillery or air support, or engineering teams in your army unit. Instead of spamming 300 clone armies and doomstacking, have an army builder that uses the technologies involved. The HoI army builder would be a great way to change up ground combat.

  • And for the love of god, an army manager.
  • New occupation policies (lenient, harsh, etc.).
  • If it reaches 100%, rebel armieswill spawn to defeat your forces. Higher means larger required garrison and occupation costs (energy/alloys).
  • Your fleets can bombard planets while a land battle is commencing.
  • Required garrison depends on how populous the planet is.
  • Occupying a world requires you to leave some of your armies behind.
  • A 'percentage system,' meaning how many districts you and your enemy control.
  • If it goes below zero, you lose a pop.įor ground combat, well, it's fine as it is except for some tweaks: Whenever you lost a single army, you lose some progress for the next pop. Losing armies feels inconsequential and a chore because of your endless source of manpower and minerals being bountiful by the time they were being destroyed.įor clones, it made sense though, but raising such large clone armies should be expensive and needs a special planet (designated like a penal/resort world) with special mechanics or something. I kinda would like a sort of manpower system.
